Hip hop legend Jeezy is speaking out for the first time about why he surprised his estranged wife Jeannie Mai and divorced her. And while Jeezy is trying to keep tight lipped about his marriage, people close to the multi-platinum artist tell Media Take Out that Jeezy is now “committed” to dating Black women going forward.

In a new interview, conducted by the gorgeous Nia Long, Jeezy spoke out about why he filed to divorce his talk show host wife.

The 46 year old rapper said, “I can tell you that I am saddened. I can tell you that I am disappointed. I can tell you that I am uneasy. But God has put me on a different path. And that path is going to entail for me to take care of myself and love myself, and be in the best position where I can thrive.”

Media Take Out spoke with a person close to Jeezy, who tells us that going forward, Jeezy plan to EXCLUSIVELY date Black women. Jeezy is currently in the midst of divorcing talk show host Jeannie Mai, who is Asian.

As Media Take Out reported before – many of the issues between Jeezy and wife Jeannie Mai were “cultural” issues. For example, Jeannie Mai moved her family members into the Atlanta millionaire’s mansion, a common custom in many Asian households.

But moving you mother and brother into your husband’s home is NOT typical in Black American culture, and may have contributed to the demise of Jeezy and Jeannie’s relationship.

Jeezy continued, “I don’t like to fail in anything, especially when I know … I can only be responsible for myself, and I can only do what I can do.

Nia asked, “Did you go to Therapy with Jeannie Mai?” Jeezy answered yes, but Media Take Out learned that he claims it didn’t help.

Then Nia and Jeezy turned to the importance of Black Love, and for Black men to love Black women.

That’s when Jeezy’s ears perked up, and appeared to show his commitment to Black love, going forward. It’s really a great interview:

Also, you should stream Jeezy’s new album, “I Might Forgive… But I Don’t Forget,” under his new label CTE New World. Media Take Out listened to it, and it’s one of the best albums of the year.
