Rapper JayDaYoungan was shot and killed in his hometown of Bogalusa, Louisiana, last night. His father was also shot.
According to the police, the shooting occurred outside a home on the 600 block of Superior Avenue.
Officers arrived on the scene where they “found that one victim had been transported by [privately owned vehicle] to Our Lady of the Angels Emergency Room. Another victim, still on scene, was critically wounded and was treated on scene by [paramedics].” That person later identified as JayDaYoungan’s father, was then rushed to the ER.
The Bogalusa Police Department later confirmed that the rapper was killed following the shooting and his father who was also shot, is currently recovering.
“We can now identify the victims as Javorius Scott, A.K.A. JayDaYoungan, and close family member Kenyatta Scott Sr. We can also confirm that Javorius Scott has died as a result of his injuries. Kenyatta Scott Sr. has been transported to another facility and we have been told he is in stable condition.”
JayDaYoungan was 24. He is best known for his tracks “Elimination,” “Opps” and “23 Island.” Earlier this year, he released EP, All Is Well.
