Jax Taylor is demanding that a judge declare him legally single immediately, accusing estranged wife Brittany Cartwright of delaying their divorce and seeking more than $9,000 in sanctions against her.
The former Vanderpump Rules star claims his marriage is over and wants to officially cut ties with Brittany before the court resolves their ongoing financial and property disputes, according to court documents.
“I desire to be divorced now,” Jax wrote in his declaration. “I would like to move on with my life and to do so as an unmarried person,” he added.
Jax is requesting a legal procedure known as bifurcation, which would allow the former couple to end their marital status while continuing to negotiate the remaining divorce terms.
However, he claims Brittany hasn’t responded to his request to move forward. Jax also alleges that he arrived at a recent settlement conference ready to reach an agreement, while Brittany was unprepared to negotiate.
His attorney insists their marriage is “beyond repair.”
Brittany filed for divorce in August 2024, ending their five-year marriage. The former couple share a son, Cruz.
Both have recently obtained temporary restraining orders against each other.
