Jason Lee says K. Michelle’s Real Housewives of Atlanta castmates were calling him before filming, eager to get the tea on K. Michelle.
In a resurfaced interview, Jason told K. Michelle that cast members reached out to him before her arrival on the Bravo series. At first, he said, the calls sounded casual.
“I started getting calls from people. Castmembers,” Jason said in the clip.
“Yes,” K. Michelle replied, sounding unsurprised.
Jason said the cast members began with small talk before getting to the real reason for the call.
“They were saying, ‘Hey! How you doing?’ I’m like, ‘Good, how are you?’ They’re like, ‘Oh I’m good. … How’s the weather?’” he recalled. “[I asked], ‘What’s the purpose of this call?’ They were like, ‘K. Michelle.’”
According to Jason, the callers wanted to know what he thought about K. Michelle joining RHOA. He said he told them he knows her “very well” and believed she was “going to be great.” He also named Phaedra Parks directly as “one of the people that called.”
“I told Phaedra, ‘You and Michelle need to become best friends,’” Jason told the singer. “‘Cause you two falling out would be a nuclear war. I think Atlanta would disappear off the map of the earth.’”
The clip resurfaced after K. Michelle said she was told that Porsha Williams, Drew Sidora, and Phaedra had been “plotting” against her before she joined the group. The women denied it, while some fans accused K. Michelle of overreacting. K. Michelle later told Virtual Reali-Tea that she had concerns before entering the group through Porsha.
“That’s why I was already skeptical about even walking in [to the group] period,” she said. “I know we have people that are brought into the show [through] this and that, but I was going to be on the show [with or] without [Porsha]. That wasn’t about you.”
She added that she hoped Angela would bring her in instead, saying, “I actually wanted to be brought in by Angela, because we had started to form a relationship.”
On Sunday (May 31), Porsha and K. Michelle sat down for a heart-to-heart and seemingly squashed their beef, but judging from their online back-and-forth since the season debut, things definitelydefinitely took a left turn after.
