Jas Prince took to Instagram where he finally broke his silence following the passing of rapper Takeoff.
“I Never like to hear about things like this happening anywhere, especially in my city, and to my family. When I got woken up with a call about this, I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “I’m with you my brother @quavohuncho. Prayers to all who are hurting. RIP @yrntakeoff.”
Houston officials vowed to find Takeoff’s killers, urging witnesses to come forward and assist with the case.
“A lot of people that were there fled the scene and did not stick around to give a statement,” Sergeant Michael Arrington said. “All we can hope is you all will reach out and give us evidence to solve the death of Takeoff.”
The cops have been tracing shell casings and reviewing surveillance footage.
“Mark my words,” Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said. “This great city, with our great citizens, with our police department – we will find who’s responsible for it. … We’re going to get them in custody, OK?”
