Jared Leto is denying accusations of sexual misconduct from 10 women who spoke to the BBC for a new documentary and investigation.
Several of the women alleged they were teenagers when their encounters with Leto took place between 2002 and 2016. Four accused the Oscar winner and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman of behavior that could constitute crimes, according to the report.
One woman alleged Leto sexually assaulted her in a Las Vegas motel bathroom when she was 17. She claimed he grabbed her hand and used it to touch himself after asking her to speak with him while he showered.
Another woman said she met Leto backstage at a 2006 concert when she was 17. She alleged they later had sex at his California home, where the age of consent was 18 at the time. When she brought up her age, she claimed Leto “just kind of shrugged it off.”
A separate accuser said Leto made repeated sexually explicit calls to her beginning when she was 16. She accused him of “being groomed” and said she later refused to sign a nondisclosure agreement.
Leto, 54, rejected the allegations.
“I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life,” he said. “These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”
The BBC said it reviewed messages and photographs and spoke with people close to the accusers. Leto has not been criminally charged in connection with the allegations.
