Jake Paul’s Miami Mega-Fight Scrapped As Gervonta Davis Faces Battery Lawsuit

The planned exhibition bout between Jake Paul and Gervonta “Tank” Davis, once set to light up Miami’s Kaseya Center on November 14, has been called off.

Most Valuable Promotions, the company co-founded by Paul, confirmed Monday night that the event was officially off the calendar.

The move follows a civil lawsuit filed last week against Davis by Courtney Rossel, his former girlfriend, who accuses him of battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and emotional distress.

“We’ve been working carefully with everyone involved to handle this matter responsibly,” said Nakisa Bidarian, MVP’s CEO. “While the fight will not move forward, our focus now turns to Jake’s next headlining event on Netflix in 2025.”

The company added that Ticketmaster buyers will receive automatic refunds.

This isn’t the first time Davis’s career has been interrupted by his life outside the ring.

In recent years, he’s faced multiple run-ins with the law, including domestic violence allegations and a 2023 hit-and-run case that resulted in probation and house arrest. Several of his past charges have been dropped.

MVP reportedly explored replacement opponents in an effort to salvage the event. Among those contacted were Francis Ngannou, Ryan Garcia, Andre Ward, and Nate Diaz. According to reports, Ngannou declined the offer, while others remained noncommittal.
