Jacquees found himself in handcuffs after police alleged that firefighters had to break into his Jeep when repeated attempts to wake him failed.
The 32-year-old, whose real name is Rodriquez Broadnax, was arrested Sunday in Hollywood, Florida, following an encounter that allegedly turned physical.
According to reports, officers responded to a call shortly before 8 a.m. about a man who appeared unconscious inside a white Jeep Gladiator near Hollywood Boulevard and North 62nd Avenue. An officer repeatedly tapped on the driver’s window, but Jacquees did not respond, according to the arrest report.
Firefighters then shook the vehicle before breaking the front passenger window to reach him.
Police allege that the situation escalated during his subsequent ambulance ride to a hospital.
The “B.E.D.” singer reportedly became combative and punched an officer in the arm as the officer attempted to prevent him from leaving the ambulance. The cop responded by striking Jacquees in the face with his forearm while attempting to restrain him.
Jacquees was arrested on charges of DUI, resisting an officer without violence and battery on an officer, firefighter or EMT.
He was initially held at the Broward County Main Jail on $3,500 bond.
