It’s been five years since Jaquees dropped his remix to Ella Mai’s “Trip,” but he says she still has him blocked on social media.
The singer was sent a cease and desist back in 2018 over the song and it was pulled off the internet.
“That’s the first time she said hey to me in, like, years. … I’m still blocked on Instagram and Twitter,” he said on The Baller Alert Show.
Jaquees did not hold the incident against Ella Mai.
“For the new people who are just catching up to who Jacquees is as an artist, this has become very controversial for no reason. We love Ella and are cool with her team as well. He has been releasing not only Quemix songs but entire projects with others artists’ songs ranging back to 2013. This was an act of genuine support and should not turn into negativity for either of the artists or from their supports,” his rep told Billboard at the time.
