Jennifer Lopez is going viral this morning, after she made some impromptu statements which many see as criticizing Goldman Sachs groundbreaking donation of $100 million towards Black women, Media Take Out has learned.

In March, Goldman Sachs launched One Million Black Women, a new initiative committing $10 billion in investment capital and $100 million in philanthropic support to advance racial equity and economic opportunity by investing in Black women. They were widely heralded for this donation.

Yesterday J Lo was at a Goldman sponsored event, and she discussed the initiative. During the discussion, Jennifer mentioned the One Million Black Women initiative and said that she “hoped [Goldman] would do this for Latinas as well.”

Many on social media thought it was inappropriate for J Lo to undermine a discussion on the One Million Black initiative, by cluttering the discussion with a separate and unrelated issue of Latinas in business.

Black Twitter is going crazy over Jennifer’s statements, look:

When announcing the initiative Goldman’s said:

“We committed to listen to and learn from Black women and that is exactly what we are doing. We have heard from thousands of Black women about their successes and hopes, and equally their challenges and the solutions they have implemented to create opportunities and build better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities.

It is these key learnings that will guide us through One Million Black Women to support and invest in the infrastructure that enables Black women to thrive.”
