Rapper J. Cole finally responded to Kendrick Lamar’s diss with his new track “7 Minute Drill,” but the North Carolina rapper says he now regrets firing back.

“I’m so proud of [‘Might Delete Later’], except for one part. It’s one part of that sh-t that makes me feel like, man that’s the lamest sh-t I did in my f-ckin’ life, right? And I know this is not what a lot of people want to hear,” he said on stage to his fans.

Cole says he was “conflicted” about whether to fire off at K.Dot but that the world wanted to “see blood.”

On his diss track, he called Kendrick trash, dissing his catalog.

“That sh-t disrupts my fuckin’ peace. So what I want to say right here tonight is in the midst of me doing that and in that sh-t, trying to find a little angle and downplay this n-gga’s f-cking catalog and his greatness, I want to say right now tonight, how many people think Kendrick Lamar is one of the greatest motherfucker’s to ever touch a f-ckin’ microphone? Dreamville, y’all love Kendrick Lamar, correct? As do I.”

Cole says his diss was the “lamest, goofiest sh-t,” and that it made him feel like 10 years ago when he was “moving incorrectly.”

He says he has felt “terrible” since dropping the diss and hopes that K.Dot doesn’t feel any way about it.
