Ice T and Coco are known for their unorthodox ways – and that comes to parenting techniques too.
Yesterday Ice and his wife showed off a picture of the couple on a family vacation in the Bahamas, and fans reacted. The two were seen pushing their adorable 6 year old girl in a stroller – provided by the hotel.
It seemed fairly innocent:
Well Media Take Out confirmed that this image caused a firestorm on Twitter. Fans began debating what the appropriate age is for a child to be in a stroller. And the debate got pretty heated. Look:
So what age is the right age to stop using a stroller for kids? Whatever age the parents say.
But pediatricians say this:
“In general, strollers shouldn’t be necessary past the age of 3,” says Dr. Brandon Smith, general academic pediatrics fellow in the Department of Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. “By that point, children should be walking and running without issue and don’t need a stroller to get around. Also, we want to promote their independence and proper motor development, and we can’t do that if they’re sitting every time they go outside.”
