Ice Spice Settles Copyright Lawsuit Over Hit Song ‘In Ha Mood’

Tiffany Brockworth |

Ice Spice has reportedly reached a settlement in a copyright lawsuit over her hit song, “In Ha Mood,” after rapper D.Chamberz alleged Spice’s hit song “In Ha Mood” was “strikingly similar” to his 2021 song, “In That Mood.”

“By every method of analysis, ‘In Ha Mood’ is a forgery,” D.Chamberz’s attorneys wrote in the lawsuit against the chart-topping star. “Any proper comparative analysis of the beat, lyrics, hook, rhythmic structure, metrical placement, and narrative context will demonstrate that ‘In Ha Mood’ was copied.”

Chamberz says he had already performed “In That Mood” live in New York “no less than 36 times” before Ice Spice released her single.

Ice’s track spent 16 weeks on the Hot 100 last year and she even performed on Saturday Night Live back in October.

The details of the settlement have not been released. The artist is currently preparing to go on the road for for Y2K! World Tour, hitting popular cities across Europe.
