Rapper Ice Cube has threatened A.I. creators thinking about using his voice on a track.

“Yeah, I don’t wanna hear that bullsh-t,” he said on the Full Send podcast when asked about an A.I. version of a Drake song floating around the internet. “He should sue whoever made it.”

He added, “Yeah. And I’mma sue the muthafucka who made it and the people and the platform who play it. It’s like a sample, you know what I mean? Somebody can’t take your original voice and manipulate it without having to pay.”

Weeks back, a viral Drake and the Weeknd AI cover titled “Heart on My Sleeve” amassed 8.5 million views over just one weekend before it was pulled from the internet. Online, there are now several A.I. generators for music.

“i was a ghostwriter for years and got paid close to nothing just for major labels to profit. the future is here,” the ghostwriter of the Drake and The Weeknd song wrote on TikTok.
