fter years of trying to make it happen, Ice Cube says “Last Friday,” the final movie in the popular series, is finally in the works.
“We finally got some traction with Warner Brothers,” he told Flavor Flav. “They have new leadership. My man Mike DeLuca, who used to be at New Line [Cinema] when I first started, when I first did the first Friday and Players Club and All About the Benjamins.”
He added, “Mike DeLuca was there, so now he’s running Warner Brothers…. Mike DeLuca was there right so now he’s running Warner Brothers and and him and my man Michael Gruber was like, ‘Yo, what the -uck is going on with Friday? Man, let’s get this sh-t back online.”
This news comes almost two decades after the last sequel dropped.
The first Friday movie was written in 1995 with DJ Pooh. The movie grossed $27–28.2 million worldwide, and had an estimated budget of $3.5 million.
