Ice Cube says he’s been in touch with Kanye West and that the rapper is doing well after he was canceled over several antisemitic rants.

“I believe he’s doing great,” Cube said on Piers Morgan Uncensored.

He added that the Chicago rapper is still fighting for access to some of his money, but that Ye is “in a good space.”

“I think he’s learned a lot from this past year, and hopefully he’ll come out better on the other side,” he said.

Cube also addressed Ye’s anti-semitic social media rants.

“I felt that if he was really upset with specific people that the message he was saying would kind of hijack what he’s really upset about,” he added. “That’s kind of what happened. You just can’t generalize, you have to be specific especially if you’re taking about anybody or any race.”

Sportswear brand Adidas cut ties with Ye following a series of anti-Semitic rants on social media, slashing his net work considerably.

“adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech,” the statement read at the time. “Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.”
