Hoping to inject some cold, hard facts into the argument, Rosenberg brought up his extensive history of breaking records and supporting Black artists in New York radio. He specifically told Jason to check in with a mutual mega-star friend to get an accurate character reference. “You know what you should do? You should ask your friend ASAP Rocky what he feels about Peter Rosenberg,” the DJ fired back, claiming Rocky would happily credit Rosenberg for cleaning up his early tracks for radio play and getting his career off the ground.
But Jason Lee, who was clearly not in the mood to be schooled in Rosenberg’s own studio, took a petty route that left social media in stitches. Jason casually revealed that he was literally heading to ASAP Rocky and Rihanna’s son’s 4th birthday party that very evening, and he planned to tell the rapper to his face that he didn’t care about their history. “We don’t talk about you or anybody else,” Jason said, dismissing the idea that Rocky’s opinion would change his mind.

However, Jason delivered the final, crushing blow of the interview, highlighting the insurmountable gap between Rosenberg’s allyship and lived reality.
“But you ain’t suck dick and you ain’t Black… so you’ll never really know,” Jason told him bluntly. The comment left the room stunned, capping off an interview that has officially divided the internet. Half of the fans are praising Rosenberg for standing his ground against “clout chasing” labels, while the other half are applauding Jason Lee for refusing to validate his perspective to a gatekeeper.
