“He Was Nervous”: Tony Yayo Tells His Side of the Ja Rule Flight Altercation

Tony Yayo is opening up about a tense midair run-in with Ja Rule that unfolded after Super Bowl weekend, offering his own account of the viral moment. Speaking with VladTV, the G-Unit rapper said he was traveling home with Uncle Murda and friends when they learned their longtime rival would be on the same Delta flight.

According to Yayo, the mood shifted once Ja Rule realized who was seated nearby. “He see me, I see him, he spooked,” Yayo said. “You could tell he was uncomfortable.”

Things escalated when Ja ended up sitting directly in front of Yayo and Murda. Yayo claimed Ja repeatedly tried to ease the tension by asking if everything was fine.

“He kept saying, ‘Yo we good?’ It wasn’t aggressive. It felt nervous,” Yayo recalled, describing the rapper as “vulnerable.”

Any hope of calm disappeared quickly. Yayo said Murda shut the conversation down and insults followed. The situation took a bizarre turn when Ja allegedly tossed a pillow in Yayo’s direction. “That was soft,” Yayo joked, saying it barely grazed him.

At one point, Yayo attempted to stand but got caught by his seat belt. “I tried to jump up and the seat belt humbled me,” he laughed. Flight attendants stepped in, and Yayo claimed Ja ultimately left the plane.

Looking back, Yayo said the encounter could have gone further. “He lucky certain people weren’t there,” he said. “That could’ve been real ugly.”
