Gypsy Rose Blanchard is mourning Ken Urker while also speaking openly about what she believes led to his sudden death.
Blanchard told PEOPLE she believes Urker died from an overdose after he was found dead at his Louisiana home on Oct. 1.
“I don’t know if it was intentional or not,” she shared. “He was not in a good state of mind lately.”
The sheriff’s office has said there were “no signs of foul play,” and the investigation is ongoing.
Blanchard, 35, has since turned her attention to the online abuse she says Urker faced before his death. She is asking supporters to back a petition for “Kenan’s Law,” an effort to change how social media platforms respond to repeated harassment reports.

“Ken’s passing has made me determined to turn pain into purpose,” she wrote.
According to Blanchard, reports were made across multiple platforms before Urker’s death, but she said many were dismissed with the response, “No violation.” She argued that harassment can become easier to understand when viewed as a pattern rather than as isolated posts.
“One post viewed alone may not tell the whole story,” she explained.
“Public figures can and should be criticized,” she wrote. “But public figures are still human beings, and fame should never erase someone’s humanity.”
Blanchard and Urker rekindled their relationship before welcoming their daughter, Aurora, in December 2024.
