Gunna has turned himself in days after he was indicted on RICO charges.
Gunna faces one count of “Conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.” The feds are planning to use lyrics from his music to indict him.
Gunna was one of 28 people allegedly associated with the Atlanta-based Young Slime Life (YSL) gang. The feds say Young Thug founded the gang in 2012. Both rappers have been charged with conspiring to violate the state’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) act. YSL is also the name of Thugger’s record label, Young Stoner Life.
District Attorney Fani Willis said she will prosecute those named “to the fullest extent of the law.
“It does not matter what your notoriety is, what your fame is,” she said. “If you come to Fulton County, Georgia, and you commit crimes, and certainly if those crimes are in furtherance of a street gangs, that you are going to become a target and a focus of this district attorney’s office and we are going to prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.”
