A judge denied Gunna bond on Monday after prosecutors alleged that he had a “command” role in YSL.
In court, Gunna’s attorney, Steve Sadow tried to secure a $750K bond, house arrest with electronic monitoring, and forfeiture of three properties. He said that the rapper’s parents would also give up their home.
One of the prosecutors argued that Gunna should be denied bond because he’s one of the main individuals in YSL with a command position, which Gunna denies.
Gunna’s trial date has been scheduled for January 9, 2023.
“The court was obviously concerned about threats and intimidation of witnesses. We believe when the court hears evidence, not just the words of the prosecutor, it will find that Sergio’s release on bond will not, directly or indirectly, pose a significant risk to witnesses,” Sadow told Billboard. “We look forward to having an evidentiary hearing on this as soon as the court permits.”
