Gunna has been denied bond for a second time and will be in jail until his trial begins next year.

Gunna was denied bond in May. The judge claims he and Young Thug are too dangerous to let out onto the streets after their RICO arrests.

In May, the rapper wrote a letter claiming he and Thugger had been targeted and that they were innocent.

“It is a sad reality that slavery is still alive in America today and still affecting my people. In 12 states more than half of the prison population is Black, one of those states is Georgia… When I was free, I tried to be good and kind to the community around me and, when I am released, I will do the same thing all over again,” Gunna wrote.

Gunna attorneys agreed and also released a statement.

“These lyrics are an artist’s creative expression and not a literal recounting of facts and circumstances,” they said in the statement. “Under the state’s theory, any artist with a song referencing violence could find herself the victim of a RICO indictment.”
