A security guard who says he was with Gucci Mane during an alleged armed robbery and kidnapping is asking a federal judge to keep Pooh Shiesty behind bars, as he now fears for his family.
In a letter submitted in the federal case, the man, described in court documents as a retired law enforcement officer working as head of security, said the January incident at a Dallas recording studio has changed how he lives at home.
“Mr. Williams was aware that I am a vested retired police officer, and that knowledge did not stop him from committing these actions,” he wrote, referring to Pooh Shiesty, born Lontrell Williams Jr. “Because of this, I am deeply concerned about what he may attempt to do if he is released.”
“Since the incident, I have found myself constantly watching vehicles passing by my home, worried that he or someone connected to him may attempt to harm me or my family,” he continued. “I have young children, and because of this fear, I have limited their ability to go outside and enjoy normal activities as they should.”

Prosecutors are seeking to keep Pooh Shiesty in custody as he pushes for pretrial release, and they have also accused him of receiving unauthorized travel passes while under prior supervision, a claim his defense has called a “distraction.”
The alleged incident took place back in January at a Dallas recording studio, where federal prosecutors allege Gucci Mane was lured under the pretense of discussing a contract release, then forced at gunpoint to sign paperwork while members of his entourage were robbed.
Nine people have been charged with federal robbery and kidnapping counts in connection with the alleged encounter, including Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty, born Lontrell Williams Jr.
Nine people face federal robbery and kidnapping charges in the case. Trial is set for Feb. 22, 2027.
