Former NBA star turned podcaster Gilbert Arenas is speaking out about life on the road, and he says that it’s nearly impossible for NBA stars not to cheat on their wives.
Prior to his retirement from the league, he played for the Washington Wizards and was in a long-term relationship with Basketball Wives star Laura Govan.
“So when the season starts, now I’m flying to Miami. Now I’m flying to Atlanta. Now I’m flying to Los Angeles, New York, right? Houston,” he told streamer N3on about the road life. “Coming in [at] 2, 3 in the morning. Where am I going? Strip club.”
“So we are partying and drinking and partying and drinking damn near every city we go. Different girls every city we go. So we’re partying during the season on our work schedule. In the summer, we ain’t doing none of that, ’cause our our girlfriends and our family’s here. So, I can’t be like, ‘Yo, I’m about to go to Miami real quick,'” he continued.
“I lie to my wife every day. Ten, twelve lies a day. That’s my job — to lie. Her job is to try to catch the lie,” he added.
Back in January, Areas tied the knot to Melli Monaco, but he says that he’s way more faithful than he ever was during his time with the NBA.
