Ghislaine Maxwell is reportedly making a last attempt to secure an early release from prison, and insiders say she is prepared to name names.
Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for helping Jeffrey Epstein abuse underage girls, recently filed a court petition claiming there are 25 powerful men who reached “secret settlements” with accusers.
In the filing, Maxwell wrote, “New evidence reveals that there were 25 men with which the lawyers reached secret settlements that could equally be considered as co-conspirators.”
Radar Online reports that, according to private investigator Ed Opperman, the move is part of a larger strategy.
“This is an absolute negotiating chip,” Opperman said. “She wants a pardon, a reduction in sentence, a commutation.”
Maxwell was convicted in 2021 after a high-profile trial that followed Epstein’s 2019 death in jail. Once a fixture in elite social circles, Maxwell spent years moving among wealthy and famous figures before prosecutors said she helped recruit and groom girls for Epstein.
Last summer, Maxwell was transferred from a federal prison in Florida to a lower security facility in Texas.
Opperman claimed Maxwell is hoping the men she could identify will “use their wealth, power and influence to get her out of prison to keep her quiet.”
Among the public figures previously linked to Epstein are Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, and Ehud Barak.
