Boxing star Gervonta Davis is now in police custody in Miami following a warrant issued earlier this month in connection with an alleged incident at a gentlemen’s club.
Authorities confirmed that Davis was taken into custody on Jan. 28 and faces charges of false imprisonment, battery and attempted kidnapping. His bond has been set at $16,000, according to TMZ.
The charges stem from an investigation into an encounter that allegedly took place on Oct. 27 at a Miami Gardens nightclub involving a former partner. In a police report, the woman claimed Davis “grabbed her by the back of her head, pulling her by the hair with one hand and by her throat with another.” She further alleged that he forced her into a parking garage away from the public before eventually letting her go.

Police say video evidence supports parts of the woman’s account.
This is not the first time the 30-year-old champion has faced legal trouble tied to domestic violence allegations.
Earlier in 2025, Davis was arrested in Miami Beach following a reported dispute on June 15. That case was later dropped when the alleged victim declined to press charges. In 2022, Davis was also jailed on battery and domestic violence accusations.
The current case has drawn renewed attention to Davis’ history outside the ring, especially given his high-profile status in boxing. He is expected to appear in court in the coming days.

Yes, as I mentioned before, I spotted this event on Polymarket with around 35% chance of an arrest. And honestly, if you followed the situation, it was pretty obvious this was coming.

Representatives for Davis have not yet publicly commented on the latest arrest. The investigation remains ongoing as prosecutors review the evidence tied to the October incident.
