Garth Brooks Publicly Names His R*pe Accuser In Lawsuit

Country singer Garth Brooks has responded to a lawsuit filed against him by a former employee by naming her in his countersuit without her consent.

The woman, identified as Jane Roe in her lawsuit, says she was employed as a hair and makeup artist and that in May 2019, she flew Brooks to Los Angeles to tape a Grammy tribute performance to Sam Moore. When they arrived at the hotel, Roe says she was “shocked” when she was told she did not have her own room and had to share with Brooks.

Roe alleges Brooks repeatedly exposed his genitals and buttocks, talking about sex and sharing sexual fantasies with Roe. He would change his clothing in front of her and even send her graphic text messages.

Brooks sued her, accusing Roe of attempting to extort and defame him on Oct. 3. He denied the allegations but in his recent amendment, he uses his own name as well as outing his accuser by naming her.

“Garth Brooks just revealed his true self. Out of spite and to punish, he publicly named a rape victim,” the alleged victim’s attorneys said in a statement. “With no legal justification, Brooks outed her because he thinks the laws don’t apply to him. On behalf of our client, we will be moving for maximum sanctions against him immediately.”

They have filed a motion seeking an emergency sealing or redaction of her name. Her attorney is also asking for the judge to sanction the country singer.
