DJ Funk Flex says he’s going back to playing Tekashi 6ix9ine’s music because so many other rappers are snitching these days. Many radio stations stopped playing the rapper’s music after he ratted on his crew…but after the YSL RICO pleas…Flex says he’s lifting the ban.
“What everyone’s opinion? For me, I’m no longer not ‘not’ playing 6ix9ine music anymore. Speaking for myself only. Obviously, according to reports, the trend amongst a lot of current rappers, since and before 6ix9ine, consist of cooperating and testifying,” Flex said on Instagram.
He continued: “Be clear. Many of your favorite artists cooperate with law enforcement. Don’t let me call names. Man, who we kidding? It seems that these new rappers ain’t doing 10-20 years with [or] for nobody. They not doing five years.”
He said there are only a handful of rappers who haven’t flipped on their crew and have been willing to do the time.
“Bobby Shmurda, Rowdy Rebel, Fetty Wap, Boosie and Young Thug are the last of that stand-up tradition. 6ix9ine, you got new music? Send it. Thursday, 7 p.m. What’s everyone’s opinion?”
He later updated the post after speaking to Jim Jones:
“SPOKE TO @JIMJONESCAPO HE EXPRESSED THAT FOR HIM THERE WILL NEVER BE ANY TOLERANCE FOR TESTIFYING AND COOPERATING! IN TODAYS ERA… JONES AND I MAY DISAGREE ON THE WHY OR WHY NOT THE MUSIC SHOULD PLAY OF PEOPLE WHO COOPERATE BUT WE BOTH AGREE THAT TIMES MIGHT OF CHANGED AND INTEGRITY IS FULLY LOST!”
Is he right?
