Fulton County District attorney says if he were still alive, King Von would have been indicted over a 2019 shooting involving Lil Durk.
“The office has declined to indict Durk Banks, a.k.a. ‘Lil Durk’ for the February 5, 2019 incident because insufficient evidence exists to prove his guilt beyond reasonable doubt of a trial,” Jeff DiSantis wrote.
“If co-defendant Dayvon Bennett, a.k.a. ‘King Von,’ had not died in 2020, he would have been indicted for this incident. As stated in the motion declining to indict Mr. Banks, the Atlanta Police Department had evidence to establish probable cause to arrest him.”
Lil Durk was cleared of his attempted murder charges stemming from a 2019 shooting in Atlanta. Durk’s attorney, Manny Arora, said “While it took three years for the State to make the right decision, in the end the right decision was made and Mr. Banks can finally put this event behind him.”
The shooting took place outside an Atlanta restaurant back in 2019.
They were charged with criminal attempts to commit murder, aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
