Fugees rapper Pras Michel is suing the singer and fellow group member Lauren Hill for fraud and breach of contract after she canceled part of their 2023 tour.
“Betrayals are always sinister, but the closer the betrayer, the greater the evil. Some say that God gives you friends to make up for your family. The Lord must have been off the day he paired Lauryn Hill with Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel, the plaintiff in this action because the betrayal among the forged Fugees family has risen to Mythic proportions. This is their tale of woe,” he wrote in the lawsuit.
He’s coming for the singer, accusing her of a whole laundry list of shady moves—from breach of fiduciary duty to breach of contract, shady accounting, and straight-up unjust enrichment.
He also alleges Hill wouldn’t even allow a tour audit! Now he’s taking it all the way to court and wants a jury to settle it.
