Freddie Gibbs isn’t holding back when it comes to Tory Lanez’s recent stabbing behind bars. Following reports that Lanez was attacked at California Correctional Institution, Gibbs took to X with a blunt reaction, suggesting someone was out to kill the Canadian rapper.
“N—a stab you 14 times he trying to send you upstairs,” Gibbs wrote in response to the incident.
Lanez’s team hopped on social media after news spread of his attack to give fans a breakdown of his injuries. The rapper received seven stab wounds to his back, four to his torso, two to the back of his head, and one to his face. The update also said both of Lanez’s lungs collapsed, and he was placed on a breathing apparatus.
He has since stabilized and is reportedly breathing on his own and “talking normally,” with his team saying he’s in “good spirits.”
Officials from the prison’s Investigative Services Unit and the Kern County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the attack. A reason behind the stabbing was not given, but according to Wack 100, Mexican gang members were responsible.
