Frankie Beverley Passed Away … Believed To Have Throat Cancer!!

R&B legend Frankie Beverly passed away at the age of 77, Media Take Out confirmed. His family announced the news on the singer’s social account. Speculation among insiders is that Frankie had throat cancer.

Before the tragic news, the singer had just retired from his decade-long singing career in early February 2024, saying, “It’s been a great ride through the decades. Let the music of my legacy continue.“

When Frankie gave his last performance on April 13, he clearly was struggling to sing at the concert.

Frankie Beverly had not revealed any information about suffering from any major illnesses at the time. So, the sudden news of Frankie Beverly’s demise shocked his fans. They had no clue he was so near his end.

While the cause of his demise remains unknown, singer Frankie Beverly reportedly had throat issues for a long time.

And word in the music industry was that Frankie was suffering from throat cancer, Media The Out has learned. Many speculated that Frankie, who toured well into his 70s, was hiding the diagnosis so that he could continue performing for audiences around the world.

Now, with the passed away news of Frankie Beverly from his family, fans are sending words of condolences to the grieving family.

His family remembered him saying, “He lived his life with a pure soul as one would say, and for us, no one did it better. He lived for his music, family and friends.“

One user commented, “He left this world just the way he may have wanted with a farewell tour as if he knew the day was near. You will forever be in our hearts. “

Frankie was an American singer, songwriter, and producer, known primarily for his recordings with the soul and funk band Maze. Beverly formed Maze, originally called Raw Soul, in his hometown of Philadelphia in 1970. After a relocation to San Francisco and an introduction to Marvin Gaye, Maze went on to release nine Gold albums and create a large and devoted following.

Beverly is the band’s writer, producer and lead singer. He is known for his distinctive smooth baritone voice and charismatic stage presence.

His songs, including “Joy & Rain,” and “Before I Let Go,” are two of the most popular songs heard at Black cookouts throughout the world.
