Four Men Charged in Rapper Julio Foolio’s Death Face Judge!

Lyndon Abioye |

Four men accused in the killing of Jacksonville rapper Julio Foolio are set to face a judge as the case moves forward.

According to court records, Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, Davion Murphy, and Rashad Murphy are scheduled to appear in a Tampa courtroom on April 24 in connection with the 2024 shooting. The defendants are charged with premeditated first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence.

Prosecutors allege the group carried out a planned attack on the rapper, whose real name was Charles Jones, while he was in Tampa celebrating his 26th birthday. Authorities say the rapper was targeted outside a hotel near the University of South Florida after sharing his location online.

Julio Foolio was killed in what investigators described as an “ambush.” Three other people were injured in the shooting.

A fifth defendant, Alicia Andrews, was previously convicted of manslaughter for her role in the case. Prosecutors allege she helped organize the events leading up to the shooting.

The four remaining defendants will be tried together after a judge denied requests for separate trials.

If convicted, each of the men could face the death penalty.

The case has drawn significant attention as prosecutors continue to argue that the killing was tied to rival groups. Defense attorneys have not publicly commented ahead of the hearing.
