Media Take Out Staff |

Former NFL star Tony “Goose” Siragusa died Wednesday at the age of 55.

The cause of his death has not been released to the press.

“There was no one like Goose — a warrior on the field and a team unifier with a giving, generous heart who helped teammates and the community more than most people know,” former Baltimore Ravens coach Brian Billick said. “We would not have won the Super Bowl without him. This is such stunning, sad news, and our hearts go out to Kathy and the Siragusa family.”

“Goose,” played 12 NFL seasons after tearing his ACL in college at Pittsburgh. He went undrafted in 1990 but he was signed by The Colts as an undrafted free agent with a signing bonus of $1,000.

He finished his career with 564 career total tackles, 22 sacks and 9 fumble recoveries in 169 games.

Fans paid their respects to the late football star on Twitter.
