Video of Young Thug’s first court appearance has hit the internet.
Fans of the rapper were shocked as he walked into the courtroom handcuffed in a blue jumpsuit. He also has not yet had a bond hearing and will remain behind bars until then, but was told that his attorney could argue for his release at the next court date – which has not yet been scheduled.
Thug has been charged with participation in criminal street activity and conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, according to the indictment. It is possible he will be hit with other charges as well.
Prosecutors allege his gang YSL “conspired to associate and with others for the common purposes of illegally obtaining money and property through a pattern of racketeering activity and conducting and participating in the enterprise through a pattern of racketeering activity.”
Young Thug’s lawyer Brian Steel told reporters that, “Mr. Williams committed no crime whatsoever” and that he would “fight till his last drop of blood to clear him.”
