Anne Burrell, the beloved Food Network star known for her culinary talent, larger-than-life personality, and signature spiky blonde hair, has passed away. She was 55.

Burrell passed away on Tuesday, June 17, at her home in Brooklyn, New York, her family confirmed. Media Take Out learned that paramedics were called to the chef’s home, after she suffered what paramedics describe as a MASSIVE CARDIAC arrest.

Heart attack is the leading cause of sudden death for women over the age of 50.

“Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend — her smile lit up every room she entered,” her family shared in a heartfelt statement.

“Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.”

According to TMZ, the chef was found unresponsive in her home early Tuesday morning. No further details surrounding her death have been made public. She had been active on social media in the days leading up to her passing.

Burrell leaves behind her loving her husband, Stuart Claxton, whom she married in 2021. While the couple did not have children together, Burrell embraced the role of stepmother to Claxton’s son, Javier.
