West Wilson says an alleged video of him and Amanda Batula “canoodling” in his apartment may have been what forced their romance out faster than planned.
During a Wednesday, June 24, Instagram breakdown with The Broadcast Boys, the former Summer House personality said he has not watched the alleged footage himself, but has heard enough to believe something may be out there.
“I haven’t seen it, but I’ve heard from credible sources it does,” West, 31, said. “It’s very illegal, I’d like to note.”
West said the alleged video was described as a private moment captured from outside his New York apartment.
“From what I’ve been told, it was Amanda and I canoodling in my apartment from one of my neighbors across the street,” he explained. “That’s what kinda kicked off everything into panic, rush mode.”
The situation reportedly led West and Amanda, 34, to release a joint statement on March 31 confirming their relationship, after they had initially denied the rumors a week earlier. Their romance became a major Bravo talking point because Amanda and estranged husband Kyle Cooke had announced their split in January after four years of marriage.
West said he did not think he needed to close his blinds.
“I guess I’ve always thought in New York there’s an unspoken rule that we can all see each other across our f—ing windows and balconies, like, don’t film each other,” he said.
West also slammed the couple’s official statement, calling it the “worst thing I’ve ever done.”
He also confirmed his exit from the show.
“I wanted to tell it on my own, but that [exit rumor] is true,” West revealed. “In [Bravo’s] defense, I don’t think it would have been a fun summer,” he added.
