Federal prosecutors say they have recovered a signed release document and a cellphone video that support allegations that Pooh Shiesty orchestrated the armed kidnapping of Atlanta veteran rapper Gucci Mane to get out of his record deal.
The new evidence was disclosed in a 25-page court filing opposing Pooh Shiesty’s request to leave jail before trial. The rapper has pleaded not guilty, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
Prosecutors allege Pooh Shiesty invited Gucci Mane, born Radric Davis, to a Dallas recording studio on Jan. 10, 2026, to discuss his deal with 1017 Records. At the time, Pooh Shiesty was serving the final leg of a 63-month federal firearms sentence on home confinement.
Investigators say the meeting became violent after Gucci refused to surrender the rights to Pooh Shiesty’s master recordings. Pooh Shiesty allegedly retrieved an AK-style pistol, held it to Gucci’s head and forced him to sign a “Termination and Release” agreement.

The government claims Gucci was also made to record a cellphone video saying Pooh Shiesty had been dropped from the label. Roughly $450,000 in jewelry and personal belongings was allegedly stolen, while two other people were reportedly held at gunpoint, robbed, and assaulted. Prosecutors say investigators have since obtained the signed agreement and video, along with surveillance footage, phone location records, receipts, and electronic monitoring data.
The filing also claims Pooh Shiesty exchanged encrypted messages before the studio meeting, including a request for “six certi” and two drivers.
Pooh Shiesty remains in federal custody, and his trial is scheduled for the court docket beginning Feb. 22, 2027.
