FBG Duck’s mother has filed a lawsuit against Chicago rapper Lil Durk over the 2020 killing of her son.
Lasheena Weekly is seeking compensatory damages from the rapper, his record label, and the international recording companies distributing his music including Alamo Records, Sony Music Entertainment Inc., Interscope Records under Universal Music Group Recordings Inc. and Empire Distribution Inc.
BG Duck was murdered in a drive-by shooting back in 2020.
In October 2021, five men were charged in connection with Duck’s murder. Charles Liggins, also known as “C Murda,” Kenneth Roberson, also known as “Kenny” and “Kenny Mac,” Tacarlos Offerd, also known as “Los,” Christopher Thomas, also known as “C Thang,” and Marcus Smart, also known as “Muwop,” are charged with murder in aid of racketeering and federal firearm violations and assaults in aid of racketeering.
After the death of King Von, investigators confirmed that Von was connected to the killing after reports that he took out a $100,000 on Duck. Mama Duck’s legal team says that Von was an OTF underboss,” but that Lil Durk “was the puppet master of the events leading up to and including August 4, 2020.”
She is also accusing Chicago’s first response team of failing to provide life-saving aid to Weekly. Duck lay on the ground bleeding out for 17 minutes outside Gold Coast Dolce & Gabbana store on Oak Street before he received any emergency assistance.
The lawsuit is a blow to Durk who has been trying to clean up his image and distance himself from Chicago’s street violence.
