Freddie Trone, the 42-year-old father who sent his 17-year-old son to kill rapper PnB Rock has been sentenced to 31 years to life in prison.

PnB Rock, real name Rakim Hasheem Allen, was fatally shot in 2022, after a robbery gone wrong at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ’N Waffles in South Los Angeles.

Trone was reportedly able to track the rapper through posts to his social media.

Trone was found guilty of one count each of felony murder and conspiracy to commit robbery. He was also convicted of two counts of second-degree robbery.

“Today, justice has been served with the sentencing of two men for the tragic and senseless murder,” LA County District Attorney George Gascón said in a statement. “His life was cut short by an act of violence that no family should have to endure.”

Trone’s wife, Shauntel Trone, pleaded no contest to accessory back in July and will be sentenced in January.
