Fat Joe shot down the rumors that he is successful because of joining the elusive Illuminati.
Fat Joe says his success is the result of his hard work alone.
“Some people start makin’ excuses and sayin, ‘Yoo, they livin’ like that ’cause they did this, they Illuminati, they signed with a cult, they did this’. Hello, he had to work for this sh-t.”
Fat Joe later added, “I’ve met everybody; I’ve never met the Illuminati. So now what my theory is is you got people who’re frustrated with seeing other people being successful, and they make up this thing called Illuminati. ‘Cause you gotta be part of some sh-t because you rich, you gotta be part of some sh-t ’cause you got famous, you gotta be part of some sh-t because ‘there’s no way, I’ve tried everything.'”

Fat Joe is not the only rapper to deny being a part of the group.
In August, Soulja Boy denied rumors involving himself.
“When I first got in the rap game a lot of people was like, ‘Soulja Boy joined the Illuminati. That’s how he got his money. That’s how he got famous, that’s how he got rich.’ But guess what? All I ever did was pray to God and stay in the studio and stay down until I got on,” he told his fans.
“They always try to discredit you for anything you do. First, they said I was in the Illuminati. Then they said a whole bunch of bullsh-t. All you gotta do is believe in God and stay down. Nothing can f-ck with you. No weapon formed against me shall prosper.”
