Fat Joe is celebrating the Knicks’ Finals run, but he says Cleveland tried to keep his fandom from the floor. On ESPN’s NBA Today, the rapper said he bought courtside seats for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals before Cleveland objected.
“I wanna say to Cleveland, I have bad news,” he said. “We had bought some courtside seats to the game and then, once they found out it was superfan Fat Joe, they was like, ‘I can’t sit courtside. New York Knicks fans can’t sit courtside.’”
Joe ended with a jab, saying, “Shame on you, Cleveland!”
The Cavaliers pushed back in a statement, saying playoff courtside seating comes with a specific rules. “All courtside ticket holders are required to comply with the terms of the single-game playoff agreement,” the team said.

By tipoff, Joe appeared close to the court, watching as New York crushed Cleveland 130-93. The win gave the Knicks a sweep and sent them to the NBA Finals for the first time in 27 years.
“We haven’t won a chip in, what, 50 years? I mean, it’s time,” Joe said before the game. “We paid our dues. We cried like everybody.”
