R&B singer Ashanti, 43, and her hip hop superstar boyfriend Nelly, , are expecting their first child together – according to multiple people connected with the couple.

Word has been traveling among entertainment insiders that Ashanti and Nelly were working on having a family, and that Ashanti may be pregnant.

Well it looks like it finally happened. Over the weekend, Ashanti was rubbing her belly on stage. Nelly noticed what she was doing, and he touched her stomach also. The couple then realized that they may have let the cat out of the bag and started laughing.

Ashanti is an American singer and actress. She was first discovered as a teenager and later signed to Murder Inc. Records in 2002That year, she was featured on Fat Joe’s “What’s Luv?” and Ja Rule’s “Always on Time”, both of which became two of the biggest hit songs of 2002. She became the first female artist to occupy the top two positions on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart simultaneously with “Foolish” and “What’s Luv?” at numbers one and two, respectively.

Aside from music, Ashanti has also acted in various productions. In 2005, she made her feature film debut in Coach Carter alongside Samuel L. Jackson. She also starred as Dorothy Gale in the made-for-television film The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz, which attracted nearly 8 million viewers when it premiered. She has since appeared in the films John Tucker Must Die (2006) and Resident Evil: Extinction (2007). Throughout her career, Ashanti has sold nearly 15 million records worldwide.

Nelly is an American rapper, singer and actor. He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and embarked on his musical career in 1993 as a member of the Midwest hip hop group, St. Lunatics. He signed to Universal Records in 1999, releasing his solo debut album Country Grammar in June of the following year. Its title track and follow-up single “Ride wit Me” (featuring City Spud) peaked within the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100, while the album peaked at number one on the US Billboard 200; it became Nelly’s best-selling album to date, selling over 8.4 million copies in the United States.[4] His second album, Nellyville (2002) spawned two consecutive number-one hits, “Hot in Herre” and “Dilemma” (featuring Kelly Rowland), along with the top-five single “Air Force Ones” (featuring Murphy Lee and St. Lunatics).
