According to two people in the know, Ashanti was home – with the couple’s newborn baby when Nelly was arrested.

As Media Take Out reported, Ashanti recently gave birth to the couple’s first child together. Ashanti and Nelly have been very private about their relationship. They hid their marriage from the public for nearly a year. And now, we’ve confirmed that they are hiding the birth of their first child.

Ashanti recently sold her New York mansion, and moved to St Louis – where she and Nelly are raising their family.

Unfortunately, while Ashanti was at home breast feeding their new baby. Nelly decided to step out and take a trip to the casino.

When leaving the casino, the hip hop legend was stopped by police – who allegedly discovered 4 ecstasy pills in his possession. He was arrested, and later released – and he’s currently back home with Ashanti and their newborn.

And before you ask – NO, we’re told that Ashanti did not bail him out. Nelly’s manager and lawyer were the ones to pick him up from jail.

We really hope that this is a wake up call for Nelly, and he gets himself together. Now that he’s no longer a single man … and he’s a FATHER and HUSBAND, he has to start acting like it.
