Former New York Giants linebacker Michael Barrow was arrested Tuesday and charged with three counts of first-degree misdemeanor domestic touch or strike/battery.
The 55-year-old was taken into custody following a chaotic family dispute at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. During the confrontation, the 1993 second-round draft pick allegedly struck his wife, Shelley, in the face … though reports indicate the blow was not intended for her.
Authorities said Barrow was engaged in a heated argument with family members when the situation escalated. He threw a punch aimed at another relative, but instead hit Shelley. The punch, intended for another member of the family, was eventually delivered.

Barrow then continued the altercation, allegedly punching the original target “in the face with a closed fist,” according to TMZ.
On Wednesday, Barrow entered a plea of not guilty. He has not issued a public statement on the incident.
Barrow, a former University of Miami standout, spent 12 seasons in the NFL, including stints with the Giants, Carolina Panthers, Washington, and Dallas Cowboys.
