Former NBA guard Delonte West has been in Virginia early on misdemeanor charges of violating the conditions of his release and resisting arrest.

He is currently being held at the Fairfax County Detention Center on a $2,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned this morning.

Officers were looking for him to serve him with a warrant. Once they spotted him, West reportedly gave chase. When they found him, he was unresponsive and Narcan was initially administered to him but that didn’t work.

He was rushed to the hospital and given Narcan a second time, and the second dose worked. West has been diagnosed with bipolar and has suffered with addiction for years.

Delonte is a former professional basketball player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Boston Celtics, Seattle SuperSonics, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Dallas Mavericks. He also played professionally for the Fujian Xunxing and Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association and the Texas Legends of the NBA G League.
