The ex-fiancée of former New England Patriots tight end and convicted murderer Aaron Hernandez is being accused of raiding her 10-year-old daughter’s trust fund and spending thousands of dollars on herself, Media Take Out has learned.
Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez is being accused by the attorney who is overseeing the trust fund of allegedly spending more than $100,000 on things that had nothing do with the child. The trustee claims that Shayanna blew through cash at luxury department store such as Harrods and on classes at a private university.
The trustee claims in legal documents that Shayanna, the child’s conservator, receives Aaron Hernandez’s pension and social security checks on top of access to the trust. The trust currently has $700,000 still left in it.
But trustees for the fund are now in court – seeking change Shayanna’s access to the money. Media Take Out confirmed that the trustee is petitioning a Boston court to reconsider the 33-year-old’s role in managing the child’s assets. The assets are being held for Aaron and Shayanna’s daughter, until her 25th birthday.
Representatives for Shayanna deny any wrongdoing. “Any allegation or insinuation that she’s spending money inappropriately or for any other purpose is absolutely false,” her attorney, Stephen Withers, told the Boston Globe.
