Evan Rachel Wood denies new allegations that she “manipulated” a Marilyn Manson accuser into making false accusations against him.
To back up her denial, Evan provided receipts… screenshots and voicemails proving that model Ashley Morgan Smithline contacted her first with allegations of sexual assault.
“I never pressured or manipulated Ashley Morgan Smithline to make any accusations against [Manson], and I certainly never pressured or manipulated her to make accusations that were not true,” Evan wrote in documents submitted to the court. “It was Ms. Smithline who first contacted me in March 2019.”
Evan says she only met Smithline once in person, at a meeting of alleged survivors in October 2020 that was filmed for the documentary Phoenix Rising. Prior to the meeting, they never spoke on the phone. Evan believes Smithline was pressured into recanting her statements by Manson’s team.
“Evan’s full of s—. That’s my comment. She’s saying anything she can to discredit me,” Smithline told Rolling Stone.
