Zaire Wade, the 24-year-old son of NBA Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade, has been charged with a felony following his arrest last month on suspicion of domestic violence.
A criminal complaint filed Thursday in Los Angeles alleges the younger Wade was involved in a June 21 altercation with someone with whom he had a “dating relationship.”
Burbank police were called to a home at approximately 5:30 a.m. after a 911 caller reported hearing a woman “screaming,” according to law enforcement sources who spoke to NBC4 Investigates.
When officers arrived, they encountered Wade and a woman who had lacerations on her face and body, according to the sources. Paramedics examined the woman at the scene, but she was not taken to a hospital.

After speaking with those involved, officers arrested Wade on suspicion of felony domestic violence, criminal threats and false imprisonment, and they also removed a handgun from the residence following the arrest before they issued an emergency protective order.
Wade later posted a $50,000 bond and was released the same day.
Wade attended Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles, where he played basketball before pursuing the sport professionally. He later spent time in the NBA G League and played for teams overseas. His father, Dwyane Wade, retired from the NBA in 2019 and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2023.
