Amy Luciani is accusing estranged husband Dwight Howard of prolonging their divorce and driving up her legal bills.
In a response filed Monday in Georgia, Luciani, whose legal name is Amber Rose Howard, alleged that the retired NBA star sought a protective order earlier this year to “harass and humiliate” her after their separation.
Luciani, 36, claimed the filing was made “for the mere purpose of annoying, harassing and causing unnecessary delay in the matter.” She also alleged Howard, 40, knew their “income disparity” would leave her facing additional attorney fees and litigation costs.
Howard reportedly withdrew the protective order in April. Luciani has denied the allegations in his original petition and is asking the court to dismiss or deny the petition and order Howard to cover her related expenses.
The former couple married before Luciani first filed for divorce in 2025. That case was dismissed after they reconciled, but Howard filed again in March.
Luciani also accused Howard of initially refusing to provide a wider range of financial records during discovery. On Tuesday, both sides agreed to a confidentiality order allowing information about Howard’s income, assets and business interests to be shared with Luciani while remaining sealed from the public.
Her attorney, Brittany M. Dixon, said Luciani has accumulated $9,454.05 in legal fees since Howard filed for divorce.
“I have spent a total of 27.5 hours on this divorce matter,” Dixon stated in an affidavit.
